CEE's Professor Miroslaw J. Skibniewski is invited as a distiguished lecturer to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Subject of his talk is "Engineering Creativity in Construction".

This lecture will reflect on the achievements of ancient civilizations in creating extraordinary structures that are part of our built environment to this day. Lessons learned from the construction of these structures will be summarized to show the continuity of thought in arriving at the engineering solutions to challenging construction projects today. A peak into the future construction technologies reveals opportunities to capitalize on past creativity and experience as well as on new opportunities created by quickly evolving information technologies, nano-and biological materials, automation, and robotics.
