Torrents and Lozano partnered with ARS chemist Clifford Rice. Together, they determined that triclosan levels in Class B biosolids from a Mid-Atlantic wastewater treatment plant averaged around 15.5 milligrams per kilogram. This means that fertilizers that contain biosolids also contain triclosan. This information can be used to further trace triclosan's field footprint.
