The Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of America has announced the Operations Academy?s Senior Management Program as one of the finalists for its Best of ITS Award in the Best Innovative Products category. This award will feature the Operations Academy during a special presentation during the 2008 ITS America Annual Meeting which will be held Monday, November 17 in New York City. The winners will also be announced during the special presentation.

The Operations Academy is a two-week, total immersion transportation management and operations program. The Operations Academy was developed by the University of Maryland?s Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) and was funded by the I-95 Corridor Coalition. It was developed in response to the increasing demand for personnel with skills in these areas. The program, now in its third successful year, uses a mix of classroom instruction, workshops, and analysis of existing systems to ensure the retention of the principles presented. Enrollment in the Senior Management Program is highly competitive and applicants must be nominated by a local, state, or federal transportation agency.

Congratulations to the Operation Academy?s Senior Management Program!
