Carmen Franks, a doctoral candidate in Environmental Engineering, recently won the 2nd runner-up award in North American Geosynthetics Paper Competition at Geo-Frontiers Conference in Dallas, TX. The paper, entitled Geosynthetic Filters for Water Quality Improvement of Urban Stormwater Runoff was co-authored by Carmen's advisors Allen Davis and Ahmet Aydilek.
