The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department's Dr. Steven A. Gabriel was an invited speaker at an energy policy planning workshop at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC March 12-13, 2009. The workshop was part of a three-year effort entitled "Toward a New National Energy Policy: Assessing the Options" with the goal of analyzing and appraising future U.S. energy policy choices. The work is in collaboration with the Tulsa-based National Energy Policy Institute.

Dr. Gabriel spoke about U.S. natural gas options and how they relate to energy security and was one of a number of energy/environmental experts from academics and the government in attendance.
