Seminar Title: Infrastructure vs. Technology: Convergence or Divergence
Abstract
An interactive session designed to explore the different development cycles of infrastructure and technology in order to understand if there is convergence or divergence between the lifecycles and the impact on design standards. The session will explore the differences in productivity between engineering and other sectors with the enablement of technology. Other important considerations to be covered will be the risk/reward balance in the adoption of technical innovation in construction evaluating the project vs. technology paradigm. The session will explore these topics with a series of case studies evaluating the issues presented along with the project outcomes, good and bad. The session will conclude with an approach to accelerate the adoption of digital tools in engineering and construction, opening up a constructive discussion.
